LI805 MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION ORGANIZATIONS: YOUTH LITERACY GRANT APPLICATION

          Four other cohort members and I completed a grant application for youth literacy during Spring 2015 semester. They appointed me the group leader, and at first I was nervous about this. But it did not take me long to realize that working with these classmates was a complete dream, and I cannot imagine a group project going more smoothly.

          Each of us covered different parts of the grant application, and all of us contributed to designing a poster to present to the rest of the class. I scheduled and enforced deadlines yet remained flexible to other group members' busy lives, encouraged communication, and kept an open mind for new ideas. This group project offered me the ideal leadership opportunity that persuaded me I could be a good leader and manager.
